Beauty

I love thunder storms.

And lightning storms.

They might sound like one in the same, but really, they're quite different.

Today, we had a thunder storm. Lots of rain, and well, thunder.
And all I wanted to do was dance in it. Maybe if it comes again I will.
Rain just has it's own type of beauty.
I love the sound. The smell. The way it looks. The way it feels, cool on your skin.

But todays thunder storm made me miss my Georgia lightning storms. I miss sitting on the deck in the back, in the hot humid night, watching the constant lightning flash it's spider web light from cloud to cloud in the distance.

Absolutely Delightful

I'm majoring in Child Development. Because of this, I get to spend a lot of time in the building where the preschool is.

So today, when I came downstairs from class, there was this cute little bakery set up. Just a couple of boards with a shelf for the cash register, and a chalkboard that labeled it as a bakery. Behind the counter, were 3 of the cutest little boys wearing aprons and chef hats. Before I could even think twice, their teacher, came up to me and handed me a penny.

With that penny, I proceeded to walk up to the counter and ask for a cookie. Promptly, the little boys took my penny, dropped it in the cash register, and handed me a delicious chocolate chip cookie... as they grew wide-eyed that there was an ever growing line of girls waiting to buy cookies.

I knew I picked the right major :)

You're just jealous

Well, it's pretty self explanatory actually.
We started off looking clean and normal-

And after only about 10 minutes or so,
we looked like this-

It was one of the funnest, most epic Monday nights I've had in a while
:D

Good Intentions

So sometimes in order to prevent something potentially bad from happening, you don't see other problems popping up...

Exhibit A:

So here's the story.... I went to buy chicken but instead of having the kind I wanted, they only had the refrigerated kind. 3 large boneless skinless chicken breasts.
When I got home, I cut the chicken into pieces and put them on a cookie sheet to freeze them.

The idea was to prevent the pieces from freezing together, which I accomplished quite successfully.

But what I didn't see, was the pieces freezing to the pan......

Lesson learned.

Forgotten

It's been a long, long time since I've been able to swing on swings.

I forgot how exhilarating it is.

Especially when you go so high, it looks like you could touch the sky with your toes, but if you try too hard, you might fall backwards out of the swing.

Or when you start out swinging on your back, and you lift your legs up and wrap them around the chains so you're swinging upside down.

Or when you go super high, and take a flying leap out of the swing.

Or when you're so exhausted you just have to sit and wait until you slow down, and then when you get out of the swing you're so off balance you can barely stand.

So then, you get to spend the next few minutes lying in the soft grass trying to ease your stomach, looking at the sky, and contemplating life and whatever else your heart desires.

Yeah, it's pretty great.

Georgia on my Mind

So two of my roommates and I wen to Dairy Queen today to get a Blizzard.
I was pretty excited. But I have a problem..... I'm pretty indecisive. I'm not good with decisions. Just give me 2 or 3 choices tops and then I can pick one no problem. So when we went to pick out a blizzard, there was just too many choices.

And then i saw it.

Georgia Mud Fudge

decision. made.
no question about it. If it's name has Georgia in it, then I have to have it.

And, just as I expected, it was so. good.
I don't think I'll ever get anything else.

I submit that it CANNOT

Can I just say that I L-O-V-E technology?

With the help of skype, and my dad's i-phone I was able to watch my little brothers t-ball game.

While sitting in my little apartment in Rexburg, Idaho, I got to watch a t-ball game in Grayson, Georgia. In my PJ's.

Does life get much better than this?

Keeping me sane.

Crazy. Stressful. Insane. Long nights at the library. Long mornings reading on the couch. Just long in general.
That's how my week has been.

But this week, I found a song, and I love it. Immensely. It's what's kept me going.
It also helped me realize that though I can't listen to music with lyrics while I study because I tend to look like an idiot while I sing along unintentionally, this, I can't sing along to. So it's beautiful, and and I don't look like an idiot. win-win!

You can sure try

So I've been thinking about it. And ways that it can be possible. I've people watched, and people watched. And today, I came to a conclusion.

It doesn't matter how cool you think you are.
It doesn't matter how good looking you are.
It doesn't matter how hard you try.
It doesn't matter what strategy you use.

If you run with a backpack on, you are going to look ridiculous.
And that's about all there is to it.

Doctors Orders

I believe that smiling is necessary to survival. Daily smiles in fact. More than once a day. It simply makes your day better.
It it can be anywhere from a shy smile, to one from thinking about that special someone, to an ear-to-ear grin. Just smile.

So today, my mission is to make you smile. Yes, you.

I hope you have an absolutely wonderful day, and that you smile. At least once.
:D

One more thing

So, I lied. I had another highlight today. And I'm procrastinating my homework to enjoy it, and tell you about it.
My highlight you ask?

Cookies

Now cookies are always wonderful, but today they were especially wonderful.

As I was sitting my living room, trying to get the motivation to do homework, a knock came to the door. When I opened the door, a boy from my science class stood there. I welcomed him in, and he told me that every Thursday, he and his fiance go to random apartments, and ask for ingredients for cookies. If we could give him some sugar, then they would bring us back some cookies. Of course, I obliged.

A little while later, while finally finding some motivation to work on a bit of homework, another knock came to the door. And there hes was, standing there with his fiance, and holding a bag of cookies. You heard right. Not a plate, but a bag. A bag of mushed, warm cookies. It was the sweetest, cutest, funniest, most awesome thing I have ever seen.

I loved it.

And some day, when I have a cute fiance, we're going to gather ingredients from random strangers and make them dessert.

Except, I think we might use a paper plate :)

Service and Sticky notes

My Religion class at school gave me a project. And for this project, I am supposed to do one act of service a day. Anonymously if possible.

I'm so excited!

Today, I wrote uplifting messages on sticky notes, and left them on the washer, and inside the door of a dryer..... at our coin-op laundry for my apartment complex.

Now I'm sure you're asking yourself, "Telling me this makes it not-so-anonymous". But, it will be anonymous for the girl that finds it when she does her laundry. And I thought I could share a highlight of my day with you, and maybe make yours a little better as well.

SO, just a few things to keep in mind:

and

Toms: cute, comfortable shoes that when you buy a pair, another pair is given to someone who doesn't have shoes. Something that this girl really wants.
