heart breaker

Yes. My 5 and 7 year old little brothers, are going to be a heart breakers.

Today my mom had to take michael to the doctor and it was going to be a long appointment. Therefore, I got the job of taking the boys to the pool. I was excited, because I love spending time with those boys. they melt my heart.

Whilst at the pool, Ethan snuggled into me and said, "Kylie. I love it when you bring us to the pool".

aawwwwwwwwww (heart melting moment number one)

Then there was thunder, and the life gaurds kept us out of the pool. We were hopefull, but even amidst fairly blue skies the thunder kept rolling. And eventually, the black clouds crept in. Though Drew would have loved to stay and eat snacks and continue to play I-spy, we needed to start walking home...

College has been on my mind a lot lately. And how much i'm going to miss my kiddos. And after Drew told me that he hated walking home, because it gave him a sun burn between his legs, this is the conversation we had while waking home:

Me: so guess what?! I'm done with school, and you're just starting!

Drew: i know i know. college...

Me: yup! i get to go off to college. isn't that exciting?

Drew: no. sad.

Me: Why? Are you going to miss me?

Ethan: Yeah.....

Drew: no, cause you'll be right here (points to his heart)

how absolutely perfect is that? :D

update

well, unfortunately i didn't really get the chance to 'steal' my daddy's camera and take fun pictures. I was entirely too busy chillin with cousins, going to theme parks, eating wonderful food, and getting surprised by friends. SO, all the cute kids got played with, but did not get their pictures taken :(
oh well. i'll get 'em in a couple of years ;)
i'm sorry it's felt so slow on here. i'm lacking in the camera aspect of my life. and i will for a while, because i have to pay for college. so until then, you may just get fun updates on my life, or old pictures that i continue to like. and the random times when i can borrow my daddy's camera, or reginald, by best friends camera.

So anyways, life is fowing wonderfully. i've been in a fantastical mood. still working out a couple of parts but it's going great :)

wishing

So, I'm wishing I had my own camera right about now. It's summer and I want to dress up cute and go out and take pictures. I want to get a bunch of teenagers together and take pictures. I want to go to a park and find adorable little kids. But alas, I don't have a camera. And I don't currently have the money to buy one. Gotta head off to college! Which, is a whole other story in itself.
But enough of my whining for now :) I am going to my aunt's houst this weekend, and then I am going to spend a whole week in UT at a family reunion. My hope, is that I will be able to steal my dads camera and have fun with all of the wonderful people that I will be around. Sound exciting? I thought so.

The library in Efesus

The Cisterns

This is a taste of the beautiful architecture. There were pillars and arches like this all over the place

Cats. Istanbul has cats like Atlanta has squirrels.

The Haggia (Aya) Sofia. (or the blue mosque. I have a hard time telling the two apart. haha)

movement

movement

This is the movement project. We had to do pan, moving with the object so the background is blurry; blur, holding still with a slower shutter speed wo that the object is blurry; and stop, holding still with a quick shutter speed so that there is obvious movement but no blur. I spent the evening at the Avenue and took these :)

Kaleidoscope

This is the most recent kaleidoscope that I created on photoshop. It just consists of taking pictures of flat objects on a white background (posterboard). And then taking the individual flat objects (ex- leaves, petals, cd's...). And then making them symmetrical and pretty in a circle, and adjusting the colors and such. It's not that difficult, but it's a tedious process for a first timer ;)

The misuc recording class down the hall.
This is the picture that i turned in for this project. I really want to reshoot it because i had my ISO to high and it left a ton of noise on the pic. oh well.

This the picture that i watned to turn in. I love how the goose reflects so perfectly! :)

Hope you enjoyed!

postcard

This is the most recent project that we did in class. I took this pictures just for the fun of it when my dad and I went on a college visit to SVU this past January. So i took the pictures and turned them into a postcard. And when it's printed out and glued together it totally looks legit!

moNtAGe

It's really rainy and nasty outside. And I'm stuck in photography being bored. So I thought that I would share with you a project that we did in photography a while ago. It's a photo montage. You find one object (or in this case, an object and the same person moved around), and take lots of little pictures from the same spot. Zoom in, don't move your feet, and click! I had to cut all of the individual pictures out and tape them together. Though slightly tedious, it was a lot of fun, and I kinda want to do another one. This is just the version that I did on photoshop.

Ssoooooo, I took a picture of this cute old man in Lawrenceville. My teacher liked the picture, and put it into an Instanbul Center for the Arts competition. And guess what? I won 3rd place!!! :D

I'm going to the awards ceremony this Friday and i'm super pumped. My prize you ask? I get a $150 gift card, and an all expense paid trip to Turkey! (except for airfare) :( i'm SOO excited!

This is the picture :) Thank you old man
